ACTION COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA
THURSDAY, MAY 14, 2026, 6:00 P.M.

Physical Location: Makiki Christian Church, 829 Pensacola Street -- Conference Room (next to lower Social Hall)

Note: The Committee may not take action on any agenda item. The Committee's purpose is to have more in depth discussion on neighborhood items outside of the regular Neighborhood Board Meeting. Recommendations shall be reported back to the next Ala Moana/Kakaʻako Neighborhood Board No. 11 regular monthly meeting for discussion and possible action.

1. Call to Order (5min): Committee Chair Jeanne Rice / Vice Committee Chair Dale VanderBrink
1.1. Welcome and Introductions

New/Continuing Business (60 min)

2. Neighborhood Board Visits and Community Outreach.
2.1. Kaka'ako Farmers Market
2.2. Other location to consider (Sam's club, Ward Village/Kolowalu Park, Ala Moana Shopping Center, SALT, etc)
2.3. Getting other Neighborhood Board members to participate
2.4. Next Parade to participate

3. Discussion on Machinery Noise Concerns on Queen/Waimanu Street.

4. Update on any Relevant Honolulu City Council Bills.
4.1. Member VanderBrink will provide any update.

5. Update on Bills NB11 Supported in the 2026 Legislative Session.
5.1. Update for review prior to presenting to the full NB11.

6. Next Park Clean up.
6.1. Discussion on when & where the next park clean-up.

7. Review of the "Note" at the Top of the Agenda for any Edits or Additions.
7.1. Previous agenda had the standard Ala Moana - Kaka'ako Neighborhood Board verbiage. They were not directly relevant to the Action Committee, and video options were being removed. Thus, any further edits should be done now.

Unfinished Business (30 min)

8. Already Passed Resolution - Vacant Lot Property Surcharge Tax.
8.1. The McCully-Mōʻiliʻili Neighborhood Board rejected the resolution 2-3. Remaining Board Members abstained.
8.2. The Kalihi-Pālama Neighborhood Board heard the resolution but will wait for their May meeting for a formal vote.
8.3. A version of the resolution was submitted to the Democratic Party State Convention.

9. Park to be Open to Dogs (Pāwaʻa In-Ha Park)
9.1. Follow up with Nate Serota from DPR. (See email)
